Targeted Beneficiary
The project for flood management of Deg Nallah has been conceived to manage flood problems caused by its overspills. As the Nallah moves downstream, the longitudinal slope diminishes and cross sections become deeper gradually. The existing channel capacity is generally limited and it bifurcates and overspills at many locations. The spill spread over extensive areas causes destruction of crops, inundating villages and damaging infrastructures in the area. The losses because of inundation are high in monetary terms, human sufferings, properties, infrastructures, land damage and consequently damage to fertile land etc. Further, the villages along Deg Nallah come under threat, endangering life and property due to severe erosion. There to cater these damages, the proposed project will build resilience of the targeted population as well as infrastructure and land.
