The CEO Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Ahmed called on the governor Sindh and briefed him about NDRMF

Governor Sindh Imran Ismail apprised Chief Executive Officer (CEO) National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Ahmed for assistance in implementation of projects reducing prevalent disasters in the province.

 

 

The CEO Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Ahmed called on the governor Sindh and briefed him about NDRMF, its purpose of establishment and ongoing projects.

CEO Lt Gen (R) Nadeem Ahmed extended his felicitations to Governor Sindh Imran Ismail and Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah for assuming the charge.

The Sindh government highlighted the existing drought conditions and requested NDRMF to see the possibility of funding the drought mitigation measures.

The CEO NDRMF emphasized that the projects design must reduce the existing risk to make Country Resilient. He assured complete cooperation over the matter and also informed the governor Sindh about the projects’ designs and underscored their importance in disaster risk management and reduction.

He said that NDRMF was working with the Punjab government for eradicating natural calamity risk and would also collaborate with Sindh government for disaster risk management and mitigation in the region. The governor Sindh appreciated NDRMF’s role in making the country disaster resilient.

Meanwhile, CEO NDRMF also met with Chief Secretary Sindh Mumtaz Ali Shah. CEO NDRMF discussed implementation of the projects that are approved but facing delay due to lack of funds, whereas the Chief Secretary Sindh assured complete cooperation on behalf of the provincial government.
