NDRMF Participate in Key ADB Engagements on Climate Adaptation Finance in Manila

CEO, National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF), Mr. Amir Khan Goraya participated in two important engagements convened by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Manila, Philippines:
●the Climate Adaptation Investment Planning Forum (CAIP 2026) on 15–16 September
●and the Cross-Country Prototype Sandbox on “Building Adaptation Investment Metrics Together” on 17–18 September 2026.

The CAIP Forum brought together governments, development partners, financial institutions and other stakeholders to explore how climate risks can be translated into prioritized, finance-ready adaptation investments. Discussions focused on climate risk analytics, investment prioritization, public and private financing, and approaches to institutionalizing climate adaptation investment planning.

The subsequent Cross-Country Prototype Sandbox, involving teams from Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines, focused on developing practical approaches to measuring and integrating adaptation investments into public investment and financial management systems, while exploring ways to engage private financial institutions. The collaborative process also contributed to the development of a shared regional Adaptation Investment Metrics Toolkit.

NDRMF’s participation reflects its commitment to advancing evidence-based, investment-oriented approaches to disaster risk reduction and climate resilience. These engagements provide an important platform for strengthening the link between climate-risk information, investment decisions and financing mechanisms to support more systematic and scalable adaptation investments in Pakistan.
