Making Resilience an Investable Proposition : NDRMF at the SDGs Investment Fair 2026

NDRMF at the SDGs Investment Fair 2026

NDRMF at the SDGs Investment Fair 2026 | Karachi
6-7 October
#Pakistan’s #sustainable #development ambitions depend not only on mobilising finance, but also on ensuring that investments are resilient to climate change and disaster risks. As climate-related disasters threaten infrastructure, livelihoods and development gains, integrating risk considerations into investment planning is essential to protecting returns and ensuring long-term sustainability.

At the UNDP Pakistan SDGs Investment Fair 2026: Investing in Pakistan’s Sustainable Future, NDRMF highlighted the importance of positioning #disaster #risk #reduction and #climateresilience as integral components of #sustainableinvestment. Through the National Catastrophe Model (#NATCAT), NDRMF supports risk-informed planning by strengthening understanding of hazards and exposure, while its Project Preparation Facility (#PPF) can help advance the preparation of viable, investment-ready projects.

“𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐭. Every investment made today should account for the climate and disaster risks that could undermine its value tomorrow. By integrating risk information into planning and strengthening the preparation of resilient, investment-ready projects, Pakistan can protect development gains, improve investment confidence and mobilise private capital for sustainable growth.
NDRMF is committed to supporting this transition through risk-informed planning, innovative financing approaches and partnerships that make resilience an integral part of Pakistan’s development agenda.” Amir Khan Goraya
Chief Executive Officer, NDRMF
