The National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF) showcased its Natural Catastrophe (NatCat) Model through a dedicated pavilion at the 4th SDPI Sustainability Expo, organised by SDPI, bringing Pakistan’s advanced, technology-driven disaster risk assessment capabilities into focus.
The exhibition was inaugurated by H.E. the Ambassador of Denmark to Pakistan, marking an important platform for engagement on sustainability, climate resilience and innovative solutions.
The NDRMF NatCat Pavilion attracted visitors, delegates and stakeholders, who were briefed by the NatCat team on the model’s key components, multi-hazard risk assessment capabilities and practical applications through live demonstrations.
The showcase highlighted how scientific data, geospatial intelligence and risk modelling can help identify vulnerabilities, anticipate potential disaster impacts and support evidence-based planning. Its expanding capabilities, including the newly integrated Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) and smog perils, further demonstrate the model’s relevance to Pakistan’s evolving climate and disaster risk landscape.
Through this engagement, NDRMF highlighted the importance of translating risk intelligence into informed decisions, stronger preparedness and targeted resilience investments.
