Honorable Speaker Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly, Mr. Imran Nadeem, visited NDRMF and held a productive meeting with the CEO, focusing on the region’s growing exposure and vulnerability to natural hazards and the need for strengthened disaster risk reduction and management measures. He highlighted key vulnerabilities and challenges faced by communities across Gilgit-Baltistan and sought NDRMF’s support in strengthening resilience and reducing disaster risks.
CEO reaffirmed NDRMF’s strong commitment to supporting Gilgit-Baltistan and highlighted the interventions already completed, as well as those in the pipeline, aimed at strengthening disaster preparedness, risk reduction and climate resilience in the region. He expressed NDRMF’s full support for advancing targeted, riskinformed, and sustainable interventions in GB, leveraging NDRMF’s technical expertise, risk analytics and project preparation capabilities to help build safer and more resilient communities. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both institutions to work together towards a more resilient GilgitBaltistan.
