Project Objective

The main objective of the proposed project is to protect/safeguard/Strengthen Canal Embankments, houses and agriculture land, Karezez, Tube wells etc. located in the project area from the effect of rain / flood water. After implementation of the project approximately 387,000 Heads, 412 acres eroded land of Killa Abdullah and 18600 acres of Naseerabad will be reclaimed, 130000 acres of land protection from flood devastation will be achieved, 69 Nos Tube wells, 09 Nos Karezez, 975 Nos of houses and other infrastructure will be saved from flood. 2590 Farm families who only depend upon agriculture will be benefited after implementation of this project.

Project Outcome

The schemes protected 387000 households, 130 acres of land, 69 tubewells and 09 Karezes.
Rehabilitation of water reservoir structure helped flood prevention and also storage of water for
drinking and irrigation purposes.
The water reservoir has contributed in drought mitigation by recharging the ground water.

Project Impact

A more disaster-resilient Killa Abdullah and Naseerabad District with reduced socioeconomic and fiscal vulnerability due to risk of flooding. Communities and infrastructure and protected from potential damage.

Project Description

The monsoon and flash floods 2022 breached the dams and damaged flood protection structures at massive scale that require funding assistance to reconstruct and rehabilitate such schemes. The project was envisaged to protect the lives, livelihoods and infrastructure. Following 8 schemes were reconstructed and rehabilitated under the Project:
