Project Objective

The overall project objective is to enhance resilience against landslides and reduce vulnerabilities. This will be achieved through the following:

Reduce road accidents by falling rocks in landslides areas, improve time and safety of travel.
To decrease impact of landslides, vulnerabilities and protect agricultural and non-agricultural land.
Sustainable road connectivity, communication between adjoining areas, reliable access and transport for food, transport, livelihoods and income generation purposes.
Secure private, government properties including land, machinery and forests from hazards.
Provide smooth traffic flow for heavy vehicles that transport goods, which ultimately will reduce the risk of accidents.

Project Outcome

The landslides affected communities have achieved safety of human lives, valuable property and improved access to employment opportunities.

Project Impact

The project has a positive Social, economic & environmental impact on the targeted area.

Project Description

The project aims to enhance resilience by reducing vulnerability against landslides. This project will provide an uninterrupted flow to traffic between the adjoining and forward areas which will enable the populations to access services (health and education), livelihood opportunities, enhance tourism for economic empowerment, and other income generation activities. The project interventions are focusing on landslide management & control through construction of 5 landslide mitigation structures namely.
