The project has the following key four objectives to make the communities resilient against disaster and climate change impacts and improving the DRR infrastructure to combat with floods and drought situations:
- To enhance the knowledge and capacities of multi stakeholders on DRR, DRM and Response system;
- To enhance the resilience through improved infrastructures;
- Contribute in improving economic condition through infrastructures development for livelihood modelling, effective water resource management institutional strengthening;
- Establishment and strengthening of CBDRM/SBDRM structure for effective and coordinated response at community level, preparation and implementation of response plans, networking with stakeholders and strengthen institutional system for Disaster Management.
Communities are safe and resilient to climate induced disasters
The project resulted in making the communities resilient against climate induced disaster:
- Community Based Disaster Risk Management (CBDRM) contributed in enhancing the resilience of the communities in 85 villages against the disasters.
- 85 VDRMCs, 16 UCDRMCs trained in disaster risk management, search and rescue and first aid are prepared to respond to the disasters in timely manner.
- School Based Disaster Risk Management (SBDRM) in 50 schools resulted in capacity building of 50 SBDRM committees to take actions as per 50 contingency plans developed for the selected 50 Schools.
- 20 Flood Protection Schemes provided safe environment to the community (17,549 direct beneficiaries) in 20 villages from the flood hazard. 13 Flood protection schemes in 13 villages of district Killa Siafullah saved the population from flood during the flood 2022.
- 10 water conservation Schemes are serving the purpose to conserve water for the drought hit villages (8,315 direct beneficiaries) in Killa Saifullah (6 villages) and Chagai (4 villages).

Targeted Beneficiary
The project aims to contribute in four national priorities out of the nine stipulated in the NDMP. The targeted priorities are: 1) Prepare Disaster management plans at various levels, 2) Promotion of training, education and awareness in relation to disaster management, 3) Strengthen awareness program on disaster risk reduction at local level and 4) Infrastructure development for disaster risk reduction. The project is implemented with an integrated approach with following key objectives:
