Enhance Climate Resilience: The project aims to contribute to climate resilience by establishing model orchards across the province. These orchards will include a variety of fruits such as apple, stone fruits, pear, citrus, persimmon, mango, litchi, avocado, hazelnut, cherry, walnuts, pecan nut, olive, and dates.
Efficient Utilization of Wastelands: The project intends to utilize potential arable and cultivable wastelands by introducing olive grafting and saffron cultivation in these areas.
Diversify Livelihood Options: One of the primary goals is to diversify livelihood options for local communities. This will be achieved through value chain development in post-harvest processing, capacity building of farmers and nursery owners, and strengthening of Germplasm Units to improve the quality of saplings and seeds in the province.
Integration of Private Fruit Nursery Farms: The project seeks to integrate private fruit nursery farms into the production of certified saplings, promoting a standardized and quality-controlled approach to horticulture.
Value Addition Facilities: To improve postharvest practices, the project aims to integrate value addition facilities for clusters of model orchards.
Increase Olive Oil Production: By introducing olive grafting and enhancing olive oil production, the project aims to reduce the biotic pressure on natural forests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while also contributing to local livelihood diversification.
Improve the Natural Environment: The project strives to make contributions to the overall improvement of the natural environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Capacity Building: Capacity building initiatives for the farming community, forest-dependent communities, staff, and private nurserymen will be conducted. This training will focus on various aspects, including olive, saffron, fruit orchard management, fruit plants nurseries' operations, processing, and marketing.

Targeted Beneficiary
The project is conceived to optimally utilize the potential of sub-tropical forestry resources, arable and cultivable private/ communal wastelands. Under this project intervention graft wood of certified, high yielding improved existing varieties will be grafted on wild olives growing in suitable localities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. A total of 0.645 million wild olive plants growing on suitable and accessible sites on private and communal wastelands of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be grafted during the first year of the project with proper maintenance as per provision of the PC-I.
The intervention is aimed at conversion of wild olives growing wild and scattered subjected to severe biotic & climatic conditions as such, provision of conducive and favorable growth conditions in the shape of adequate maintenance-watering, pruning, fertilization and upkeep is inevitable to be afforded under the project. This will help facilitate success of the intervention being planned for olives growing in wild conditions.
