Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa took serious notice of the situation after the massive bomb blast in Peshawar City which took more than 100 lives of innocent men, women and children along with the massive destruction of moveable and immoveable properties. The death toll and damage to properties could have been reduced if an effective search and rescue service was available at that time. Keeping in view the situation, the project is taken in hand to revitalize the specialized rescue such as hydraulic disc power cutter, heavy duty lifting bags, hydraulic jacks, life and motion tracer etc. and add new high tech state of the art technology equipment to ensure the safer community and minimize the loss of lives as well the properties.
Strengthened Emergency Response Services (Rescue 1122) in 21 districts of KP.
Improved safety of citizens by providing efficient and effective response to emergencies in case of buildings collapse incidents search and rescue.

Targeted Beneficiary
KP Province had a recent history of facing complex emergencies in the form of natural as well as human induced disasters like floods, earthquakes, landslides, conflicts, bomb blasts and many other events. The province also had the shortest warning time to respond to certain types of disasters. The departments were also becoming aware of the severity and frequency of disasters due to Climate Change, and cognizant of the then existing vulnerabilities in the province. To minimize the time to rescue the emergencies, the specialized rescue equipment’s such as hydraulic disc power cutter, heavy duty lifting bags, hydraulic jacks, life and motion tracer etc. and add new high tech state of the art technology equipment to ensure the safer community and minimize the loss of lives as well the properties.
