Kohsar University, Murree hosted a round table discussion titled “Smog and Peaks: A Collaborative Discussion on Mountain Region Challenges,” led by Vice Chancellor Kohsar University, Murree Prof.Dr Syed Habib Bokhari. The event brought together experts and stakeholders to address environmental challenges in mountain regions, particularly smog.
Prominent participants included Mr. Bilal Anwar (CEO NDRMF), Ambassador Dr. Nafees Zakariya (COMSATS), Dr. Qaiser Imran (NDMA), Mr. Nasir Mehmood, Mr. Iftikhar ul Hassan, Faculty Incharge Kohsar University, Murree Prof. Dr. Ramla Shahid, Dr. Sami Dawar, and Dr. Sumaira Maqsood. Ms. Shazia Rizwan, Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Culture, appreciated the initiative and pledged her full support.
During the event, Mr. Bilal Anwar and Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr Syed Habib Bokhari signed an MOU to collaborate on environmental issues.The session highlighted the impacts of smog on mountain ecosystems, strategies for mitigation, and the role of policy and technology in addressing these challenges. Vice Chancellor KUM Prof.Dr Habib Bokhari reiterated the university’s commitment to fostering collaboration and developing solutions for pressing environmental issues.
