Pakistan Petroleum Limited and Leading E&P Companies of Pakistan Commit to Decarbonization at COP 28

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), along with other leading Exploration and Production (E&P) companies of Pakistan, actively participated in COP 28, held in the United Arab Emirates. During the event, PPL and its industry peers signed the Decarbonization Charter, reaffirming their collective commitment to supporting global climate change initiatives and reducing carbon emissions in line with international decarbonization goals.

As part of COP 28, a high-profile panel discussion titled ‘Pakistan’s Upstream Petroleum Sector and Decarbonization’ was organized at the Pakistan Pavilion by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, in collaboration with the National Disaster Risk Management Fund (NDRMF). The session featured distinguished panelists, including the Managing Directors of leading E&P companies, and was witnessed by the Federal Minister for Energy (Petroleum Division). The discussion underscored the E&P sector’s determination to align business operations with global sustainability goals, fostering a transition toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible energy landscape.
