Project Description

The project is designed to protect Tehsil Shakargarh District Narowal which is at Risk level “A” among most vulnerable flood districts of Punjab. This flood mitigation measure will strengthen defense against flood at Hajipur and will serve all communities specially farmers, laborers and poor living who are the most vulnerable to floods in case of failure of flood defenses/ breach of Hajipur Gujran flood bund. The Rehabilitation of Hajipur Gurjan Flood Protection bund will make villages of Tehsil Shakargarh safe from the flood of River Ravi. Accordingly, this project aims to provide relief to approximately 0.3 million people living in flood prone villages along the bund from flood disaster of River Ravi.
